Required Reading
Book Adventures is a free service that encourages good reading habits. This website will be used in Legacy’s Reading and Writing class.
Every quarter, students will be required to read at least one book from the book list. All books must be at grade level or above. After reading the book, students will log in and take a quiz on the book at the Book Adventures website. For required books, this will be worth one quiz grade. Quizzes may be taken twice and the best score will be taken. You may use your book.
For the third quarter, books must be read and the quiz must be taken by March 11. Late grades will not be given for this assignment. Any student who has not completed the quiz by this date will receive a score of 0% for the assignment after March 11.
A warning score will be applied on February 28. If you have not completed the book by February 28, the assignment will be marked as “Missing” in the grade book. A “Missing” score is the same as 0% and will lower your grade. This is meant to be a warning to you and your parents that the assignment has not been completed. You may make finish the book and take the quiz for full credit prior to March 11.

Extra Credit Reading
Students may earn extra credit for Reading and Writing Class and Legacy Bucks by reading extra books. Here’s how it works:
Each book quiz has ten questions. If you score 8/10 or better on any additional reading, you will receive extra credit and Legacy Bucks.
8/10 = 5pts extra credit
9/10 = 5pts extra credit and 5 Legacy Bucks
10/10 = 5pts extra credit and 10 Legacy Bucks
- Extra credit cannot be applied to test grades.
- You may only quiz on one book per calendar week. Each book may be quizzed up to two times.
- You must use your own username and password to login. Keep track of your information.
